ATTENTION: I reallllly don’t want to do this, but to stay within the rules of this very nice publisher: If you were receiving this newsletter before Nov. 5, 2021, pleeez email me at myerspat@gmail.com to tell me that you want to keep getting it. If you don’t opt in within a few weeks, I’m going to have to remove your subscription.

Now, where were we? Ah.
This week’s contest: Tell what would happen if any two people switched professions or other roles, as in the example above of mellow TV art teacher Bob Ross and berserk TV chef Gordon Ramsay. Deadline for Week 1462 is Monday night, Nov. 22.
And we have the winners of our contest to choose any TV show, then use the letters in its name to create a different show, or episode of that show. Some are anagrams; some use the letters repeatedly. Like:
Lost in Space > Plastic Noses, Lips et al.: The Space Family Kardashian travels the universe, searching for . . . you guessed it . . . attention.
Or a pure anagram like this one:
Seinfeld > Life’s End: A show about nothingness.
Q. On what show does the prize money only go to $11?
In my online supplementary column, The Style Conversational, I talk about this week’s contest and results (and about the switch to this Substack platform). There’s also a cool animation showing “Breaking Bad” move its letters around into “Baking Bread.” And I give the last call for to the next Loser brunch, Nov. 14 at the Indian restaurant Aditi in Alexandria, Va.
