Style Invitational Week 1496: How are any two of these things alike or different?
Plus -- yes, we did it -- the results of our contest for conservative-leaning humor. (They're funny!)

The difference between being back at the office and the recurring exam dream: At the office, it’s way easier to get back to sleep.

The recurring exam dream! Borscht! Being back at the office! A magnetometer! A flushable wipe! These are among the 16 items on this year’s wacky random list for a contest The Style Invitational has run since the 1990s.
This week, for Week 1496, tell us humorously how any two (or more) items on the list are alike or different, or otherwise linked. Deadline is Monday night, July 18.
And some thought it couldn’t be done — the last time we did it was in 2004, and the landscape has indeed changed — but I think you’ll get a kick out of the results of our contest for conservative-leaning humor. Like this honorable mention:
Q. How does a liberal clean his gun?
A. He empties out the water.
In my supplementary column The Style Conversational, I talk about the conservative jokes and show you some that did not exactly get the point. (Along with one entry I chickened out on running after deciding that it was too risque even for the Invite.)
