An ajar clam
Can stank a tad
That wafts all damn day —
As dank as bad shad.

It’s another VIVO week — Verse In, Verse Out — with a new Style Invitational light-verse contest and the results of the last one. This week: Write a humorous univocalic poem — one that uses only one of the vowels A, E, I, O or U. Deadline for Week 1510: Monday night, Oct. 24.
And we have the results of our Week 1506 contest, our recurring challenge to write a poem using one or more terms recently added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, including “yeet,” “sus,” “pwn” and “janky.” Do I have to tell you that they’re creative, clever, funny and 100 percent unjanky?
In my supplementary column, The Style Conversational, I talk about the new contest and results, and mark a little milestone in the humor contest biz.
